All sounds are just specific combinations of frequencies which move air, and a microphone is a sensitive medium that responds to vibrations and the resulting vibrations are recorded by being pressed into a pliable material. Vinyl makes good records since you can make one and press copies of it 😊

I could get music - but for a long time I struggled to understand how speakers could produce the complexities of human speech? Then I kinda realized I was giving speech special treatment! It's all just patterns of bunched up air in the end!

If you imagine the speaker cone going in and out with the wave, then imagine the record has the same wave, and there's just a contraption in between that whispers the wave from the record to the speaker
