Over at the Bad Place, I made a tradition of posting Douglass' "What, To The Slave, Is The Fourth of July," and I intend to carry on that tradition here.
Since most versions you read in classes or in textbooks have parts omitted, the link below has the full text of the speech.

Oh no, my friend, a CEO never gets fired unless PR has gone terribly wrong. I've literally tried to fire myself twice due to downturns and my board has laughed and said, "Don't be silly "

I still remember staring in shock as Congress moved that legislation through the process thinking, this seems a bad idea. Does no one else see the bad?

I think celebrating the last time we told a monarch that we would not be ruled by an unlimited executive should be very appropriate to celebrate this year. We're gonna have to make that point again.

One of the specific concerns I have with Trump vs. US is the first Trump administration avoided a lot of terrible actions by staff and other government officials saying, "you can't do that."
The Supreme Court has just eliminated the legal and moral support for such resistance. I hope we survive.

There's a reason that the US State Department does NOT recommend using the USA as a governmental model when working with developing democracies.

We tell our nieces and nephews that our cats are good lessons in consent. You gotta be polite and ready the body language clearly or they will just hide under the couch.

Just to be pedantic, Smoot-Hawley was passed during Hoover's administration, not McKinley's.

I am so very happy for you (and selfishly for all of us). Over the last seven months I've learned about the incredible cancer dread and, I think, your experience has been much more fraught.

Dad told a lot of stories about dust storms and locust swarms. Not real complimentary. Now Abilene felt like the place where hope goes to die in my experience.

I am quite happy. Over a year ago, the city gassed the prairie dog colony living in a field behind us. One little guy survived. He lives there, lonely. 6 months ago, he got a friend! So much better. This week, 4 more prairie dogs have moved in. I feel so happy for the little survivor!

When I saw the first early access patch for Hades II, I didn't expect much, but there's a lot of meaningful change there. Really excited to watch this game progress. I just keep opening up more content!

I saw that patch note and thought it was specifically for you. I, personally, was more excited about being able to use all of the tools, but my reflexes suck anyway so I don't dodge well.

In fact, most of the articles DON'T mention this important fact. Though they all list, "lease payments," as a critical problem. You have to really dig to find out about Golden Gate Capital and their role.
Thanks.

73% of mothers with kids under 18 are in the workforce. More than flowers or brunch, working moms need:
- Paid family leave
- Equal pay
- Universal childcare
(But get your mom flowers, too)

I get it, but one song. They could have done one song! It just was the most Beatles-free episode you could imagine.

I really want to like the new Doctor Who series. Ncuti Gatwa is a treasure and I like the dynamic with Millie Gibson. The two first scripts though are challenging me. I just wouldn't have imagined a Beatles episode without a single Beatles song, and the less said about Space Babies, the better.
