People really gotta stop thinking their personal moment of gnosis = A Universal Truth or they need to get off of my internets for a bit There should at least be a couple of days every few weeks where I don’t run into that person. I’m sure I run into them irl too but they are less likely to tell me

It doesn’t matter. Unless we disappear and/or let them kill us, this is just what they do. This is Just Who They Are Idk where you’ve been but - Maybe don’t scold ppl on a small fringe social media site for talking about racism. It won’t drive us to vote for a fascist. It’s just an asshole move.

I seem to recall that decades of refusing to denounce racism because if we scolded them they were gonna blow! We elected a black president and got the tea party but everyone kept humoring racists and bending over backwards not to tar them with that label bc they’d have no choice but to go MAGA.

Outside of idk, perhaps some really amazing scientists can have a role in dealing with climate change even if they’re old, I don’t want to be too general, but no one should be in charge of ANY of those decisions who is going to die before everything catches fire etc. The stakes aren’t real for them
