The goal of misogyny is to reduce women *only* to gendered roles, actions, and meanings. Any pretensions to humanity in women, or any expressions of interiority—like, say, a love of music—must be stamped out and replaced with something pertaining to sex or childbearing.

Yeah, that's why dressing up in skirts & make-up is equated with femaleness. The female is defined by these cultural things & women have no existence outside of male-defined "womanly garments" (& girlish/flirtatious/sexualized behavior). A man who wears these garments also claims this "girly-ness."

Usually this isn’t so blatant: “Why are you listening to music instead of giving birth?” Usually, the tactic is to repurpose women’s humanity *toward* sex of children: “Musician chicks are hot” or “Play Mozart at your pregnant belly, not because you like it but because it’s good for the child.”

Music, art, any independent thought or creative action is viewed only as an extension of their role in your existence. Literally sucks the joy from life.
