I inherited a table saw with all of its safety gear removed. Dad was a master carpenter, and I worked with him for a few years. Its the first thing carpenters do when a new saw hits the site. I still have all my fingers, but table saws are terrifying to use.

Yeah, I mean who needs safety regulations in dangerous work environments? That is such a communist move. Our Lord and savior, Donald Trump, removed safety regulations for a reason and I will not go against His word.

can someone explain to me how that could add hundreds to the cost of a table saw? i'm pretty sure i could do it more cheaply. sounds like a skill issue

Sawstop (owner of the patent) is actually being really cool about this so I donโ€™t think other manufacturers have an argument at this point.
