Hilariously, they tried to fix the algorithm and got improvements for some disabilities, but no improvements for others. That is, for some disabilities, the biases are so deeply ingrained in our culture that these applications can't weed them out, even when trained on DEI.

i think that moving the needle on climate change is going to involve (among other things) a paradigm shift in our approach to failed solutions
our collective instinct is “revert to the last thing that worked”
we need to think, “what failed? was it the whole solution, or can we move forward more?”

Benridge are on a mission to bring back British wool and stock every rare breed from these isles. A really great company to support!

UK wool spinning & fibre folks - Benridge are having a sale on Masham and a few other things. I'd been planning on waiting til we move to dive into raw wool, but £12 for a fleece of Masham was too good to pass up! www.benridgewoolworks.co.uk/raw-whole-fl... #FiberArt

And have that also allow them to log accessibility info that automatically feeds into when they post apartments/houses for rent or sale. The amount of time wasted on viewing inaccessible places is infuriating.

Once we move, I'll definitely speak to the council about it. Still trying to set the completion date! 😭

Still to be seen what they awarded - but it's a relief there will be something after no funds of my own since 2020. Need adjustable bed and hand controls for car most urgently.

DWP just called to ask if I wanted my back pay in installments or all at once, so I think that means I was at least awarded something for pip? On the first try even. *Fingers crossed for full mobility*

Many of these terpenes are known sensitisers and common allergens, so the human results may be very different. The push to extract and concentrate cannabis terpenes, or source from other plants and then use in canna vapes & oils, is dangerous for many of us. journals.lww.com/pain/abstrac...

Why does the cannabis industry council seek NHS reimbursement of private prescriptions twice in this? That's the antithesis of what the NHS is and does, and supports the creeping privatisation of public healthcare. Which patient advocacy orgs support this? www.cicouncil.org.uk/cic-publishe...

Safer than street supplies.... *sigh* but definitely wouldn't work now with the digital systems used across pharmacies.

Yeah ... So not only was she being put into opioid withdrawals, she was on an SSRI too and that sent it over the edge to serotonin syndrome. It was horrendous, and rather than treat it medically she was abused in a psych ward. 🤬 They never tested for serotonin syndrome so she can't sue.

Got to love the NHS - almost kills the person by misprescribing a high risk drug combo and then withdraws all treatment permanently because of their mistakes. (Always check for interactions on the BNF and on US based interaction checkers - they seem to miss most here, but that was on BNF in red.)

Bup might affect your cannabis tolerance too. A friend was on high strength patches and could tolerate boatloads. Her doctor then prescribed tapentadol on top of it and an SSRI causing serotonin syndrome and now they won't treat her pain at all. Once off patches, she had a much lower tolerance.

They have a craniosacral therapist speaking too. (Basically chiro-light), and a few other "brain retraining" types. Fuck the EDS Society. (Also just waiting for them to say the Norris lab found a new condition, not hEDS, because it's not a collagen gene 🙄 )

The admins locked this thread, the EDS Society has multiple pseudoscience presenters at their conference this year. And they wonder why we don't trust them? 🤬 (Along w/ the CEO teaching one semester as a "professor of practice" in the US and now calling herself Prof) www.reddit.com/r/ehlersdanl...

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️🌈💖

In the US compounding pharmacies were a lot more common, it's one thing that makes me very frustrated with care here. I'm sorry they don't understand it, MCAS and allergies makes it very difficult. I tolerate some opioids but not all.
