I swear that a lot of the people voting for Labour this time around were thinking they might include some liberal policies, but Starmer's Labour is all about "not raising taxes", "privatize the NHS", "revising the GRA to discriminate against trans women", "stopping the boats", and "keep Brexit".

Anyone who was following UK politics for awhile can tell you, the reason it doesn't feel like a landslide is that England mostly traded blue-colored conservatives for red-colored conservatives. Labour has stopped being a left-leaning party when they kicked out Corbyn and other left-leaners.

Exactly. The Symbionese Liberation Army shootout was 400 cops vs. 6 people. The MOVE standoff was 500 police vs. 6 adults, and even then they had to resort to bombing the apartment block. If there was a sizeable armed resistance, the cops would flee until the Guard showed up.

I can barely fathom what it would be like to be cops getting called in to deal with a mass disturbance and end up in the middle of a 1-minute mortar bombardment or deal with multiple IEDs, which is what infantry are trained to get thru. It probably would make you reconsider a lot of things.
