The iBBCspectrum! It had Forth in a 4k rom, everyone had a 48k expansion pack blu-tacked on the back and played Battered Fish Collecter – a game typed in from Your Computer, in 8 pages of badly repro'd hex code with no checksum.

Yes. A little appreciated feature at the time, all the keyboard keys were also analogue with 0-248 pressure levels. In practice only a tenth of that.

Found a little universe tucked away in a corner where Apple was founded in Shropshire in 1982 and released one model that came with a cassette drive, supported two joysticks and a weird unique floppy-type drive that was promised but never shipped. It has a strong following of about 80 greybeards.

I’m one, and also the other. I’ve never heard a definition that differentiates the two enough in a practical sense to matter. Maybe geeks love their thing with passion and nerds love it for work but that’s all of us innit?

I once bought what I thought was a neat looking cheese from one and it was this amazing $12 nougat and I have never seen it since. It was worth $12 nougat too.

I have decided to take credit for the G5 iMac. The left pic is one of mine from ~2000 or 2001 based on a Mac Plus. On the right, Apple's own in mid 2004.
