UGA law school has a First Amendment clinic. That clinic helps file open records requests. But when it sought information about Attorney General Chris Carr's baffling RICO charges against Cop City protesters, the open record request center was shut down.
Might cause some otherwise unengaged or disinterested students to have stronger feelings not only about the 1A, but about authoritarianism itself.
Dare say some might even become woke.
Seems like another example of a higher ed administrator who will hide rather than stand on principle. As a UGA alum, Iβm disappointed (understatement). Pressure from law school donors? UGA higher admin? Would love to know the real reason behind this action.
