I don't take the age thing seriously. THEY PICK A LIE ABOUT EVERY DEM, and the press knows it's some BS but plays along. They know that the other guy is worse in every way, especially his brain. They turned being a war hero into a liability against a fortunate son draft dodger.

There's probably some level of it that's inevitable - there really are nonrenewable resources, that if we use today simply won't be there tomorrow - but I suspect the nuances of that conversation are just bigger than 300 characters.

Classic American political dialogue is premised on the idea that we share fundamental values but disagree on how best to promote them. I haven’t believed this for a while. Other than “I prefer to be alive and not dead” and “I like pudding,” I do not share values with these people.

Helpful or likely to happen? Because directing the NSA to commit a bunch of 4th Amendment violations via cybercrime and dumping a lot of people's private emails and text messages into the public view might be helpful.

Niko Kommenda and I learned that NWS just began doing gridded assessments of forecast accuracy. We got the data and mapped of how many days into the future they get within 3°F of the observed high temp.

I think at some point no one wants to admit just how broken things are, because then someone would have to figure out a way to DO something about them -- or confront that some significant proportion of Americans WANT the system broken that way.
