i don’t think anyone serious has suggested that Trump would improve the lives of Palestinians, but i do wonder how many Biden-skeptical folks will return to the fold once they’ve seen more of Trump’s rhetoric about Gaza
People have mostly been smart enough to avoid writing down that Trump would be better for Palestinians but I do think folks have been doing a lot of wishful projecting on Trump's anti-establishment views
I don't care about rhetoric, I care about what they do. I have no illusions about Trump, and also none about Biden. We have two pro-genocide candidates.
Hopefully all of them realize the stakes. Trump would not only be worse on Gaza, he would be worse on most everything and could bring an end to our democracy.
I think a lot of people will refuse to vote for either guy, but the problem with not voting for either guy is that is one fewer vote the other guy needs to overcome. Enough people do that, it adds up.
It’s rough, I’ve told myself I’ll stop holding my nose every election for the past few cycles no no avail, we’ll see. The alternative is so much materially worse I don’t know if I can justify it.
if you’re a low to medium information voter who cares about Palestine, your calculus is basically “Biden hasn’t handled this well, I’m less interested in voting for him.” Trump’s express racism on the issue might change that calculus.
I don't think many of the people who are unwilling to vote for Biden over his support of genocide are unaware of Trump's rhetoric. It hardly matters when Biden is still sending Israel bombs.
