Not really, there’s VERY little flexibility on pricing. Our comms/net is almost a monopoly w little motivation to be consumer centric. We have long been known to have some of the worst phone plans in the world :/
It’s more like folks get annoyed w bad service & leave to try & have false control

There’s only the two here so it’s not like there’s a whole ton of choice tbh. Flipping back and forth between the two is what some people do but it makes zero sense to me 😅

Though in a less good-natured way on my part, my eye twitches every time an American that knows I'm in Canada wishes me a happy fourth of July. You gonna wish me happy birthday on YOUR birthday too? lmao

I've always found this odd. & I'm sure you know it doesn't stop at diff words - the refusal or shock that other countries have different things or don't have things, the general concept that the entire world doesn't work the 'American way'... is amusing to behold even in the loveliest of Americans

Does anyone else’s Boomer parents feel the urge to switch tv/internet providers every few years?
My dad just texted me saying ‘it’s official, we’re switching!’ … to the service they angrily switched from 3 years ago 💀🫠

This isn’t new to you info but… this is really them laying the ground work to launch a massive public campaign against OF as part of the continued puritanical march towards fascism & censorship of anything sex positive or sexually empowering for women/LGBTQ+
I’m not an OF user, but fuck all this

I mean, sounds intriguing given that I like a bit of milk with my porridge, but this probably would not have made a difference re: levels of jittery-ness.
This realization came about because I was wondering why the F I feel so 'fluttery' and scattered. ..It's because I've barely eaten today, again

... and for anyone reading this wondering WTF I'm talking about, it's this song.
after my procedure, the nurse that discharged me told me I insisted that EVERYONE had to look it up on youtube

FWIW I meant due to
feeling jittery AF, but this kills me b/c I had to do that back in ‘21 & that prep is 💩💀
Fun fact: when I was highAF & they wheeled me in for my procedure, I asked ALL the staff if they knew the ‘I wonder what’s in your butthole’ song & told them it was their office theme song

-deeply- love the Claudia Kishi ref & weird timing because I was just msg-ing the actress that played her in the new serieslike ten mins ago (which sounds weird w/out the context of she shared some of my art when the series first launched, & she posted about the BSC anniversary today)

It’s sad to think about how much relief one feels when they see a company being ‘not shitty’ about something, because it feels like this ain’t the norm anymore

It’s not good to idolize companies, but all the same… as a tiny lil treat, for this and other recent takes, I’ll allow myself a ‘Good Guy Nintendo’ joke this one time

When a new person signs up to BlueSky they really need to be told to upload an avatar, and also taught the basic rule of ‘don’t go through one person’s old posts and ‘like’ all of them because that’s creepy AF behaviour’

Another thing it trained me on: immediately be wary of people without an avatar. Why are you an egg person here? 😂🫣

Especially surrounding ‘why’ questions. Or on a very benign disagreement, overly flowery language. Or any convo with someone you don’t know IRL.
I think bad faith arguments/trolling/hate posters have trained everyone to be on edge 🫣

I feel like the internet has accidentally trained us to view previously normal things as hostile :/ I’ve noticed more & more lately, I feel like I have to use excessive emojis or w/e when asking questions on serious topics because people are so used to bad faith q’s & automatically assume the worst

Hi everyone! One *extremely meaningful* thing you can do to fight back is to join library boards. Usually this is an appointed position, not elected. The time commitment for most public library board members is 1-2 hours monthly.
I'm a former library director. Ask me anything.

Walking the balance of preserving my mental health but ensuring that I don’t shift into justifying ignoring all of it or looking away, because I have some privilege, is a tough tightrope to walk.
But the past six years I’ve gone HARD on advocacy & it’s been taking a toll more while I job hunt atm

I have no problem removing toxicity, but what I struggle with is all of the information people are rightfully sharing about important causes or issues that we should be fighting back against. But there’s so much. It’s too much. Everywhere you look, it’s all bad f-ing news & people losing rights 🫠

Pro tip: own two sleep masks and that way when you lose one somewhere in your own bed covers, you don’t have to spend 30 minutes tossing blankets around trying to find it before you can sleep ✨

Yeah I keep politics out(ish) of BS because BS= casual
But tbh even on IG I’ve unfollowed a bunch of rights activities/orgs et cetera. I don’t have any $ to donate to the causes I normally do & I’ve screamed into the void enough w friends & family on issues that I’m not likely to change more minds

It feels deeply selfish to reduce the level of awareness I have about things impacting others, but man…
Someone that has less brain fog than I do needs to step in to more eloquently explain this level of… molecular-level sadness and horror over what people are enduring globally

Debating adding SCOTUS & Supreme Court to my muted words list. I’m barely hanging on due to job hunt stress & world events have been BREAKING me on a deeply profound level.
It feels selfish but also… I’m not American, & need to stop stressing about who y’all gonna vote in/shit I cannot control..
