Thank you. I'm sorry you were shot at. I have had extreme noise sensitivity since birth, plus some traumas on top of that made things worse. I haven't found anyone who knows how to treat it, but it's been some years since I've tried. Might be time to investigate again.

I have noise canceling headphones and I'm piping music to cover the sound, but I can still hear the fireworks. When I hear fireworks, I feel threatened. No amount of therapy or medication can make me feel safe. Each time I hear one, I worry I will die.

oh, no worries! I'm emotionally and cognitively still reeling from my move approaching 2 months ago, and while that wasn't a move I made by choice, I had a months-long heads up. If I'd had only weeks I would have simply walked into the ocean

Before I did the paid subscription, I did some of the free yin classes on youtube from Travis Elliot. He's one of the people behind Inner Dimension. Those free classes are basically long, free advertisements, and in my case they obviously worked.

I made my mom a birthday cake that, while imperfect, was less Cakewreck-y than any other cake I’ve made. It was also delicious (they’re always delicious!). Rich chocolate cake, homemade 4-berry compote filling, French meringue (boiled/7-minute icing) frosting. Last photo overexposed to show inside!

I am not interested in starving myself, nor in flirting with disordered eating. I have a healthy diet with appropriate nutrition and calories for my needs, and I cook from scratch a whole lot, avoiding ultra-processed foods for the most part. 7/
