Sorry, but apart, possibly, from the brighter/darker thing, I'm not much wiser. A temporary colleague, who'd studied music composition, seemed not to know about modes. Someone on Twitter said something about a root* note, but couldn't really explain what that was. * might have been something else.

Thanks Brian. I think I have the talent, but it was the motivation I lacked, 40 years ago. My thinking this time is to keep my neurons active as I sail towards the sunset, and see if I can make something of the tunes that randomly appear in my head, now and then.

As I coast towards retirement (still several years away though), I'm thinking about what I'll do with my time. Apart from more domestic involvement, some cycling (to a cafe...), some shed projects, and maybe community transport, I think I'll attempt to learn guitar again. As well as that though.../

/a small flashgun, specifying a PC connection (OM-2 with no hot shoe). Flashgun arrived, and it was hot shoe only, so I had to buy something on the drive there, and ended up with a wee unit that did the job, but I hated the results. Noticed they're using one as a FB profile pic. Terrible, innit?

I never took to flash, other than when I had to use it in the studio. But then I'm not a people photographer. My wife's sis wanted me to photograph her wedding, so I reluctantly agreed. They neglected to tell me, until not long before the event, that the ceremony was close to sunset. So, I ordered/

It does, doesn't it? The rotation is a bit too much though, so the closer you can get to the image (maybe +1 or +2 dioptre close-up glasses), the more natural it will seem.

Some #3D #stereo Jupiter coolness here. There's enough rotation between the two images that if you view them with crossed eyes, you can see a 3D effect, showing Jupiter as a globe, not a flat image. 🔭
