Thanks. Fyi: only 15%-20% of employees in Spain earn above €40k yearly (2,500 monthly net). I wish I could pay more. I do not fix this. Yet, clearly you can have good quality of life in Barcelona with this salary. I wish salaries were higher for most workers, particularly the poorest in society.

(1) It means in 5 years you are formally tenured and you still get possibilities of progression and promotion. Details on the position can be found in the call and TCD webpage. Everyone I know got permanent in year 5 (or before) and had the same general conditions of those with permanent position.

Hi Will, it depends on your scale (experience or qualifications) and if you are above merit bar (about 60-65k). All Assistant Profs I know at my department have started at scale 6-8 (50-55k), never below. You could start higher if your current salary is higher too.
