All our lives are on the line man the focus should be on Donald and the horrific things he’s saying.
We've gotten to the point where there are true "undecided" voters out there on Trump and Biden, so I'd be shocked if polls shift much. Hell, Trump got convicted of multiple felonies and was incoherent at the debate and nothing changed. It's all about who shows up more in November.
Maybe incorrect, but a hypothesis you could have is that Biden was already unpopular, a big chunk of Biden votes were anti-Trump, and an empty suit is *easier* for Trump opponents to rally around than some young go-getter.
Practical suggestion - WaPo's new (?) online format means it's critical to put a central point in the first 2 paragraphs. Non-subscribers now see a snippet of the article (with no warning that there's more). For your article, non-subscribers just see this on Bad Biden Performance. Nothing on polls.
