Apparently at one of the immigrant concentration camps, staff were making detained children recite the pledge of allegiance every morning. As they were in the process of being deported.

Why? These are American kids and adults who embraced the ideals of America. I have relatives who spent time in the internment camps and later joined the military and remained patriotic. It’s their fucking country. It’s an assertion to me. while despising the camps and policies and racism behind it.

Sorry, but I don't think your country will ever make sense. It was built on stolen land by imported slaves. Abuse, inequalities, racism, violence are in its genes, despite all the little nice stores its citizens tell themselves to cope.
