It is no comfort to tell someone who is struggling that others have it worse. At best, you add guilt to their worries. At worst, you invoke wider despair. A true warrior knows not to borrow trouble, and to help your comrades, not add to their burdens.

I'm thinking he COULD lean into it and share EPIC SHARK SCICOMM with the shark 'furries'. Thereby turning a TON of very into sharks people into walking Advocates for Real Sharks.

Anywho, show up every day to do what you can with others and make sure that you're attending to people's material needs while doing so. That basic political engagement will put you in good stead. The rest is noise.

you may need some elk, too. we have Roosevelt ones out here in the Pacific NW temperate rainforest. I wonder if they would be helpful for you, given your GINORMOUS elks of ancient history.

Happy Firefly Day! You near the grand cicada concert? It's worth hearing once in your life. They're beautiful little creatures. But visit them briefly, it is very easy to have TOO MUCH CICADA in your life.

supporting your point about basic human rights! in the US those getting federal disability benefits DON'T HAVE MARRIAGE EQUALITY. Marriage cancels it. Singles getting it can't have over $2k at any given moment or it stops & they owe ALL they were given. Abject poverty is inescapable as a result.

and I have ONE very angry Junco. I don't think his mate is going to choose him next spring because his go-to choice of action when a predator is around is to stand immediately next to their nest and yell. He has very poor survival instincts.

I have no idea. I've noticed that it seems to happen across species as diverse as birds and mammals and lizards. So far, I've noticed that when someone (including people) do that, they seem to be happy and determined at the same time? But i have NO IDEA what the real purpose is, Just it happens

oh i hope you did, too! the high steppy thing is SO CUTE and I'm deeply interested in figuring out where in our collective past it comes from. The whole 'tilt head at 45 degree angle when confused thing' also seems to be nearly universal. I've seen fish do it.

May 16, 1944, 600 Roma and Sinti staged an uprising at Auschwitz after they'd heard 6000 gypsies were about to be executed. They barricaded themselves in the barracks, armed with whatever they could find. Their resistence meant no gypsy died in camp that day. It's Roma Resistence Day. Opre Roma.
