just had an attmepted scam, guy in an SUV asked if i spoke English as I was getting dinner. I figured he wanted directions when he suddenly said he drove from LA, introduced his kids, tried to give me his "real gold ring" for gas money drove off with a fake paper plate

I saw some Indian dudes in a white SUV drive up to me while I was pumping gas at Walmart and ask if I wanted some AirPods they had in their hand for $20. I told them no and they drove off with plates from another state. I still don’t understand what their angle was
