This goes into a broader issue I have with people perceiving Kendrick to be dumber than he is, but then those same people doing a doublethink when they call mr morale too abstract and “weird,” and act like he needs to “go back to making HUMBLE,” But that’s not a convo for today lol

I don’t even like j cole, I just like even less the way the conversation got boiled down to “oh yeah, he was smart to drop out, Kendrick would have eaten him alive.” Kendrick isn’t some dumb attack dog you throw meat at, he clearly, *actually* hates Drake, he didn’t wanna fight j Cole either

When he said “Kendrick has put out some of the greatest albums of all time,” I actually think he meant it? I don’t think he was saving face? Unless he was revealed to be a pedo like Drake was, I think a rap beef would only increase his sales. So I don’t think he backed out cynically.

I think there’s a “right answer wrong formula” situation with people realizing j. Cole was correct to retract his diss track. They’re like “Kendrick would have beat him too” which I feel isn’t Cole’s point Even if Cole “won” a rap beef, he clearly *likes* Kendrick. That’s why he apologized

It’s not a question of good or not so much as like- hey, here’s what it is. I find it interesting the “scale” because I have mutuals on such opposite ends of the “why i post on here” meter, but I think both approaches are fine, but that why “I’m” here might not always be clear

I’ve interacted with people who almost exclusively self promote on here. & I’ve interacted with people who mostly use it socially and would prefer if their promotion of stuff was taken to different platforms. & both approaches are fine! What I do is kind of a mix of those two, as a full disclosure

I enjoy interacting with people, and I’ve never like, pretended to like someone I didn’t or anything. I’m not trying to be the “kid rock” of bsky, cynically tapping into a “market.” But also, yeah, I like that this gives me more eyes on my music, and that’s something I felt important to disclose

I think about a lot (and am not sure where I land exactly) is the philosophy of why I’m exactly using this platform. Part of it, if I’m going to be 1000% real, is to network. To get exposure for my music. And I know, that’s maybe slightly cynical, but I wanna be honest about that fact so you know

I’ve been avoiding Schopenhauer because he seems like a 19th century redditor but is he actually good? I thoroughly enjoyed reading kierkegaard (even though the man needed to RELAX with being long winded) but Kierkegaard had very very different energy I feel lol

That one is totally on me haha I’m fairly certain I was the “recommendation” for this person, but they want more privacy than I realized, thank you for working to resolve this though, I appreciate it, and the work you do to highlight musicians
