FYI, of the education secretaries since 2010 all bar three are now gone: Michael Gove, Nicky Morgan, Justine Greening, Damian Hinds, Nadhim Zahawi, Michelle Donnelan, and Gillian Keegan (thanks, Chichester), all gone. Gavin Williamson, Kit Malthouse and James Cleverly survived the night…

I’ve argued the same, so don’t disagree, but… what if… the Tory antipathy to the left is a legacy of the right’s anti-communism, not necessarily equitable redistribution, social democracy etc, etc, per se? One nation Toryism could drift lefter… They can’t all be bastards…

Result of the night? The swing from the Tories to the far left in North Hereford is incredible. Clearly letting agri business turn the river Wye into a sewer doesn’t go down well with locals. But still, you have to be pretty determined to swing that far left.

There’s been real progress made through good faith engagement with this BS on the anarchist left. But it’s also destroyed groups. AFed split and died over internal trans inclusion debates c.8 years ago. The leaders on the TERF side were ex-Trots, *if* memory serves.

Progressive anarchist views on gender go back at least to Emma Goldman, but she cld b an essentialist too. BS anarchist biology goes back to the start: Proudhon and his willfully ignorant nonsense about women, ‘the male seed’ and conception. Is the problem weaponisation, not the views themselves?

I don’t know him, but he reminds me of people we all know. This is a generational issue, perhaps, with bog standard social conservatism on top of economic and political radicalism. It’s not uncommon. Also, he doesn’t say he agrees with everything JK said, only what he’s read. Cld be Harry Potter?

In communities that have a violence problem, an exceedingly small number of individuals (often ~.1%) are responsible for the majority of the violence. The vast, vast majority of community members are peaceful and just want to live their lives.

What’s the anarchist line on voting in the GE tomorrow, you ask..? Most won’t bother. Voting doesn’t help the cause of social justice. You have to do it yourself. Others will vote: five minutes of our time and a cross in a box is pretty meaningless... the govt always gets in. This is a fun read
