THIS is the author, from the back of his other (much larger) book, Mushrooms Demystified. Same energy. You cannot find big delicious mushrooms and not look delighted. 😻

Congrats on correctly identifying it as a trombone! Lots of people say it’s a trumpet when talking about this image, but he’s a trombonist, just holding it out of the way.
