Nessy does that when I sleep upstairs. There's no door to the stairway. She does the Sad Lonely Song until I reply "Are sad and lonely? Sad kitty sad!" & then she'll come up. Most times. Sometimes she likes to sleep by herself on the comfy armchair in the living room

My favourite local example is Cathedral Grove, world famous, always clogged with cars and tourists. I know a few other places that put that place to absolute shame & maybe I'll run into 3 or 4 other people if I go on a weekend.

I like to share a lot of beautiful places on here but I have location data turned off for a reason & I rarely give names of spots unless they're established parks. I'm very lucky to live somewhere it's still easy to find myself alone even in a popular, non-remote park like this

Heat pump's working, but it's definitely noisier than it should be. I'm going to try to use it as little as possible til I can get it looked at. Of course I was nagging myself since March about getting it serviced before the hot weather set in 😑

Birding-while-swimming lol. Last year I was also able to sneakily swim up to the base of a tree full of hilariously clumsy band-tailed pigeons, & enjoyed watching them clamber and bumble around trying to eat whatever fruit was on the tree (chokecherries maybe)

Yeah, I'm never 100% comfortable with them. Mind you, this campground has an attendant and they're right by the gate, so I should probably just talk to them when I drive in & let them know I might lose track of time a little bit :) (also staying in the water til dusk is really cool)

I went into the basement and my stubbed toe did NOT like going down stairs AT ALL so now I'm icing it and sulking. I caved and turned on the heat pump just to get it down a few degrees in here. In lieu of swimming I'll take a cool bath later
