yeah but the biggest mistake was the Union didn't shoot first. Buchanan did fuck all when SC seceded instead of saying "NO" and marching troops into Charleston while the state was still organizing.

Also the confederacy striking first also is a tough premise. Yeah the rebellion was a poor idea but the tide was turning towards eventual abolition, the strength of the north was ever increasing and King Cotten looked stronger then ever. Their mistake was having an untenable system that was doomed

This is like a pretty debacle premise. Germany did not "shoot first" in any capacity Serbian support of the black hand, Austrian demand for war, Russia mobilizing first or just the necessity to strike while the iron was hot for all CP are all better culprits then "Germany shot first"
