Jumping back 40 years for another new 'Real Live' anniversary interview. UK superpromoter Harvey Goldsmith talks Tour '84, plus organizing Bob's biggest crowd ever in '78, Live Aid, BobFest, Last Waltz, and the time Dylan busted him sneaking out of a show early.

My review of last night's Bob show in Mansfield—and, more importantly, Ella's. In which good questions are raised like "Why is the camel frowning?"

I’ve been obsessed with the story of Arthur Baker’s forgotten remixes for Bruce Springsteen’s BORN IN THE USA & was thrilled to have the chance to do a deep dive (including a chat with Baker) for NPR: www.npr.org/2024/07/02/n...

Jesse Jarnow reports in from Dylan's Outlaw Tour show last night at Jones Beach! "It was just fun music, fun to play, fun to sing, fun to hear, with no one laughing more than Dylan, seemingly cracking himself up with his own vocal delivery."

Terrific interview put out there by Mr Padgett who’s a public service, or maybe a Boblic service.

Last night when the Outlaw Tour hit Syracuse, Bob Dylan brought out what has to be one of his only guest HARMONICA players ever: Willie Nelson's longtime bandmate Mickey Raphael! Stewart Wiseman was on the scene and shares his report and videos:

My conversation with the late, great Kinky Friedman about all the times he sang, toured, and played chess with Bob Dylan. Some lines in here that couldn't have come from anyone else. RIP

Pledging My Time came out one year ago today! To celebrate, I've released one interview from its pages. Bob Dylan's gospel-era guitarist Fred Tackett talks three years of protests, Jerry Garcia sit-ins, and jamming with Dylan on "Rainbow Connection"

Awful. God love the wayback machine for sure but you need to know the original links. Not a substitute for just paying the relative peanuts to keep this stuff online.

Our Man in Charlotte @adamchicago.bsky.social reports in from a wild second night of the Outlaw Tour. 9 out of 14 songs diff than night one. First “Shooting Star” in a decade, more never-played-before covers, more Tempest. Plus a full tape.

Show report from the plane ride home. Wild covers, surprising originals brought back after years, and a whole lotta Tempest. Easily the most bizarre, unexpected Dylan show I've ever seen.

Previewed the Outlaw Tour kickoff by looking back at all the times Bob and Willie have sung together, from Django tunes on the Pat Garrett set in Mexico to talking golf with Huey Lewis during "We Are the World." Will we get more collabs this summer?

In 1994 the Pet Shop Boys were invited to perform 'Go West' at the Brit Awards.

They agreed and brought with them 3 separate choirs of miners. Some of those miners had marched with the gay and lesbian members of LGSM in the 1980s. It is one of the great, near-lost music moments

Another real esoteric newsletter today, for true heads only. Songs Bob Dylan ALMOST covered—even wrote 'em on his stage setlists—but never actually did. Like an alternate-universe history where he's belting "City of New Orleans" down in South America

Debuted a new series today, looking at a Dylan song's changing live arrangements over the years. Wanted to start with a relatively easy one: "Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum." Only a few rearrangements—but some quite dramatic. Other songs I should tackle?

27 years today since we lost Jeff Buckley. I remember sharing the stage with him at Sin-e in the East Village like it was... Well, a lifetime ago. Safe travels to a one of a kind.

A few years ago I remembered him for Rock Cellar Magazine.
