Also, most religions that people follow today would be considered “ancient”, and belief in the Force goes back at least 1000 years. So he’s not wrong. What is weird, though, is that Vader has actual magical powers… you’d think that make more people believers.

How old do you think this guy is? If he’s 40 then he’d only be 20 at the END of the Clone Wars. And he’s not a clone, so if he started his imperial service at the start of the Empire he was probably some low level clerk in the depths of Courasant.

It should be abundantly clear at this point that people are very forgetful and a dedicated propaganda machine can completely distort people’s recollections of a time they actually lived through. It seems likely that the Imperial (Fox) News has worked to make the Jedi a more distant memory.

This is a pretty fair ranking. I’d suggest watching TOS before LD… LD riffs on all of Trek, so to get the full experience it might be useful to get TOS under your belt first.

Every beloved art style throughout history is the result of people being conditioned to see it as attractive. Impressionism was seen as vulgar until folks got used to it. My suspicion is that there will be a backlash to modernism and AI art that will embrace more handcrafted work.

Idk about any retconning. Spock says 1990s in Space Seed. I’m not sure what the Second Civil War is… Sisko says that the Bell Riots bring about needed change, which suggests to me that it was one and done. I think WW3 is somewhere around 2040.

The proper order is: Eugenics War was in the 1990s, Bell Riots basically now and WW3 soon. There’s a couple of great novels that insert the Eugenics war into our timeline by Greg Cox. Not canon necessarily, but very inventive and super fun. www.goodreads.com/series/54010...

I don’t think it’s so mysterious. They are both incumbents of a sort. Voters are capable of making the political calculation that it makes their party look weak and indecisive to change candidates. Also, I think you are underestimating Trump’s popularity among Repubs. They are quite happy with him.

My point is that the rank and file aren’t “elites” and there’s nothing stopping more people from getting involved other than Americans don’t seem to like politics. Biden ran unopposed because he’s an incumbent and no one else thought they could beat him. Repubs prefer Trump over the others.

Perhaps, but I think the idea of running someone other than the incumbent is a nonstarter. It would look like the party thought that Biden was a bad choice all along, or he became a bad choice and they didn’t find a way to set him aside before this.

Yes, as a parent I can confirm that you will consume content with your kids that you will find just god-awful. But you can take some satisfaction in the fact that your kids are enjoying themselves, and that’s a good thing.
