there's a reason anti-abortion crusaders prefer to pontificate about the importance of life and avoid facing the actual practical consequences of their stance - when you dig into them, they are horrifying, dangerous and so, so cruel
but alito feels secure enough to go full monster in a SC opinion
They blissfully overlook the fact that prior to about 5½ months along, if the Incubator dies the fetus will almost certainly do so too. Whereas if they save the Incubator, that person is able to potentially incubate more fetuses in the future.
IVF is an area where this is biting them, and they're trying to dodge it, because the spare embryos inherent to the current process clearly have the right to life, so they should oppose IVF,
but they also want (rich, white) people to be able to have more babies so many of them support it instead.
This is why there was such backlash against the doctor in the IN/OH abortion case: they like to speak in vague generalities and ABSOLUTELY HATE tangible examples of how their policies brutalize real living people, because when average Americans see those examples, they recoil in horrified revulsion.
It's also a reason they love Christian private schools/homeschooling: you can deprive young people of any accurate reproductive health info. As a homeschooled kid who didn't get health classes or sex ed, I didn't learn about these sorts of pregnancy health risks until adulthood.
these are bad people, full stop
you cannot look this kind of thing full in the face and say affirmatively that it should happen and retain any sort of morality
If someone gets radicalized to the point that he gets shot.
That is totally on him.
You can only put the clamp down so hard before something snaps.
Also fbi, no I'm not advocating, just an eventual history has showed time and time again
