Love Ballard but he had one book that he rewrote several times, yes it's changed how I see the world but PKD seems to have invented the world we live in, long after his death.

Have you seen High Rise, directed by Ben Wheatley? I haven't read that book, but I've read a couple and it definitely had the Ballardian vibe for me. Plus, it contains the best cover version* of ABBA's "S.O.S." in the world. *a solid exception to the disdain rule for sad versions of upbeat songs
