only time I've ever developed a genuine irrational racial prejudice was after living in South Africa for two years, and it was towards white South Africans

Yeah, there's a ton of white south africans in new zealand, can't seem to figure out why they all flocked over here in the 80s. anyway, I cannot hear that accent without bracing myself to hear the inevitable racist torrent that's about to start spewing out of their mouths.

“It’s cultural.” What white South Africans say when asked why black South Africans are walking for miles on Interstate Then they ask you to move to SA.

As a white South African, I share your prejudice. It's not entirely irrational - we can be appalling and, wow, we do not send our best into the wider world.

Black, mixed-race, Indian descent folks, almost without exception wonderful people. hitchhiked all over the country with no problems. white South Africans, many were nice to me, but the majority I met, god damn man

My mate’s parents fled South Africa for London because of apartheid. They were classified as “coloured,” and when you see the rules and charts that they had to put everyone who wasn’t white into a box, and what rank had what privileges, it very much reminds me of somewhere else.

I met a white South African once, and it took half an hour for him to mention "the things they're doing to white farmers." He had never met a farmer.

I took a job right out of college teaching English in Taipei. The people running the school were white South Africans who brought me over illegally and cancelled my contract. I’ve met a few other white South Africans and non have changed my impression of them. Grateful they’re a minority

I once met a self-identified “Rhodesian” in a bar in Seoul, and it was like meeting someone from the 19th century, the racism was so open and stupid.
