Yeah there is a real question of when they go involved (his publishers didn’t respond to comment, so it’s not even clear to me how this website knows a crisis management firm is involved - there would have to be communications or outreach they don’t mention in the article)

This article mentions a crisis management firm being responsible to media requests, and if that is the case, I would be very surprised if Neil is out there making statements himself, especially without input from a legal team

I would think that middle step (agent or publisher going to a lawyer) would happen, but I don’t know how this outlet reached out. If they got to Neil without contacting an agent, I can’t say how he would respond, including whether he would loop in his lawyer first.

It’s more typical for the order of operations to be: they reach out to the individual, or an agent or publisher (which is public information for Neil), then the individual or publisher would go to the individual’s lawyer before issuing a statement.

At least with Lovecraft and other authors who are deceased, they don’t profit from popular consumption (and a lot of his stuff is public domain now). With JKR, paying for any of her work goes to her, and she’s an active danger to trans people.

I know nothing about Project Dominion or any plans for Cardassia to join the Dominion. I have never even heard of the Dominion. I disagree with many things the Dominion is saying, and trying to conquer all solids sounds awful to me. I wish them luck in anything they do.
