There are some mailing lists I sign up for where they ask you for your birthday and I’m always like “they don’t need that” so I give them a fake one. Usually a month before my real one. Then, when I get a happy birthday email from them when it’s not my birthday, I’m like “oh, right!”

I got a message from my gastroenterologist’s office this year telling me happy birthday and now that I’m 45 (I’m 46) it’s time to schedule a colonoscopy. Nevermind they’ve been giving me colonoscopies biannually for over a decade because I have Crohn’s. I feel so loved.
