I wouldn’t say being a green voter is part of my identity, but I’ve always voted green because in every election they’ve felt like the best candidate.
This election is the first time my vote has ever helped someone win. So proud to be living in Carla Denyer’s seat.

Also, I was *super* nervous about cycling in Copenhagen as I’d heard loads of people saying the volume of cyclists made it tricky and I’ve not found that to be the case at all!
It’s when it’s just me that I end up on the left hand side of the road wondering why that SUV in front is honking.

How could anyone see this street and think “no the way we do them in England is better”

It’s one thing to read about it but I’m finally in Copenhagen and seeing first hand how quietly and easily streets can work for pedestrians, cyclists, women, kids, and all other types of people when you just design them to do exactly that in the first place

I just saw a car pullover to let a cyclist overtake them and now I’m worried I might have woken up in some kind of alternative universe

Wondering why that cyclist is riding in the middle of the lane?
It’s because they don’t trust you to prioritise their life and safety over scraping 30 seconds off your journey.
If you’d rather they weren’t there, then contact your local council and ask for protected cycle lanes now.

I...does this driver not understand how bike lanes work? If they had been turning in front of a car coming up from behind them to the right, would they also feel victimized? 🤔

It’s about bloody time a predator like Russel Brand gets held accountable. I hope everyone else whose behaviour is an “open secret” in their industry is terrified they’ll be next #dispatches #c4dispatches

Chances are, that cyclist wants to share the road with you even less than you want to share it with them.
If you’re sick of getting stuck behind cyclists in your car, contact your local representative and tell them you support protected cycle lanes.

Imagine experiencing something as simple and joyous as walking to the shops, to school, or to work and thinking that it must be a conspiracy and that someone is out to get you.
What a horrible existence that must be.

3 years ago I thought I was the kind of person who would never cycle in a city. It scared me, I didn’t think my body could do it, and honestly - I wasn’t interested.
Now I ride my bike everywhere. What changed? Not as much as you might think. Here’s my explanation for how it happened #urbanism+

This!! Plus good public transport! I haven’t been able to drive for a long time now (because epilepsy and you’re legally not allowed to drive until you’ve been seizure free for more than a year). Biking for me is out too, because it’s a *really* dangerous thing with seizures as well.
