Hello, it's me, famed NYT columnist Rich McMoron III. I have a 0 for 30 record when it comes to boosting candidates who win primaries. Here's why we should unite the party by dumping Biden and skipping Harris in favor of Mark Cuban

Man, a lot of people on here just go full MacArthur having a mental breakdown in his hotel room over anything, huh?

Oh, nobody is winning. It's just people melting down and blowing up relationships for nothing.
Like a no-stakes, very stupid Soviet power struggle.

When you know people who are friends with them, or at least friendly, it's more fun.
Knowing and disliking them adds some spice to the popcorn.

Watching 20-something left-of-center to leftists tear each other apart for the last couple of days is frustrating, yes.
It's also very, very funny.

I appreciate everyone who was hyperventilating over a system so broken that it might as well involve chicken entrails.

Clearly the best option is a Fussii army, backed with Alemanni foederati, to secure the city!
And since the Emperor is proving to be so selfish, we obviously need the Senate, under the watchful eyes of that army, to choose a new one.

But now is not the time for politics! Barbarians are at our gates everywhere! The Alemanni, Goths (who landed in Galatia), and Sassanids are invading! Rome must be protected!

The Traditionalists, hemmed in most everywhere, sense an opportunity. The Emperor is in a very precarious position in Italy, so they use their massive senatorial support to have their own candidate made emperor! They also take some Atlantic tin mine or something.

The Populists build up more and more around the Bosporus, and build an army worthy of the name. Still, they appear to be waiting for their moment.

The Militarists are drained of support in the Senate, so while they have a powerful army, they simply have no option but to expand their armies and support in Gallia, which is the safest, most prosperous province in the empire at present.

The Traditionalists build an army capable of destroying Zenobia, and manage to save their control of Aegyptus. The Palmyran allies your most of Shapur's army, leaving little Sassanid presence in the area. But the Fussii take the opportunity to seize power in Syria.

The Populists expand their control to Asia, and continue to do little otherwise. Still, they are becoming ever wealthier and more influential.

The Militarists respond to the Frankish incursion, and in a very close battle, only the force of Roman cavalry superiority is sufficient to drive them back, bloodied, but not broken, the Franks begin rebuilding. But while their armies are away, Pannonia is sacked by Alemanni.

Build an army in Africa, build local support, and hide out, that's what. I'm not wasting precious resources on other people's problems. 😤

The Traditionalists must have enraged the gods, as Zenobia declares a breakaway kingdom in Aegyptus, and the Sassanids invade Galatia. The eastern borders are aflame. What is a proud Roman to do?

The Militarists begin building support in Gallia and increasing the size of their armies. Which is smart, as the Franks gross over the Rhine into the Empire. The Populists build an army, though not much of one, in Thrace, as the Goths begin mustering under Cniva.

The Fussii install a loyal governor in Hispania, and begin building local support in the region. If things go sideways, then a province removed from the borders would be very useful, especially as all the barbarians are mustering against Rome, especially the Sassanids.

The Militarists gain most of the northern frontier, with Gallia and Pannonia. The Populists secure their central position at Thrace and Macedonia, the Traditionalists take the wealthy provinces of Syria and Aegyptus.

Of course, the Fussii are not the only powerful faction in Rome. Militarists (red), Populists (yellow), and Traditionalists (blue)all seek to step into the void left by the recently assassinated Emperor Severus Alexander. But everything is gonna be fine, I'm sure.

Ah... Africa.
Beautiful, sunny, profitable Africa. It's 235 AD, the Roman Empire is uhh... a litle shaky, and Decimus Fusstius has just been given the governorship of Africa in order to get him to stop riling up the plebs of Rome.
A province to squeeze in peace, probably.

It takes a very special kind of insane to think that Manchin can win now, seeing as he barely eked out a win in 2018 when things were a bit less divided.
But he's gonna try, which means desperate moves are required.

And then when he attempted a coup, they thought he clearly would accept defeat.
And every single time he does something awful, it's just another reason why Trump *clearly* can't keep doing this, without doing anything to stop him.

Just an unalloyed good.

it kind of sickens me that all of you are so happy that trump might go to prison. even if you dont agree with him, he is a man with a family. and if you cant understand that, theres a drive into deep left field by castellanos, it will be a home run. and so that will make it a 4–0 ballgame

This is like complaining about how Sun Yat-Sen lost power to Yuan Shikai post-revolution.
"He can't do that, it's illegal!"
Yeah well, let's see how many divisions the KMT of the 1910s can put into the field to stop him and the other warlords.

Most countries are above international law, including Palestine.
Typically when someone is hauled before the ICC, they're given up by their political enemies after being removed from power. Taylor, Pinochet, Milosevic, etc.
But the US, China, Russia, Germany... These countries have nothing to fear
