Today's Trump email.
I've seen some ppl say that the "unified Reich" story is a distraction from "the real story" that Trump's main campaign promise is to deport (or put in detention camps) over 11 million people using draconian police state tactics. Fair enough, but aren't these the same story?
Some voters will respond to the argument that deporting 50% of the nation's agricultural workforce will have a disastrous effect on food prices. Some will respond to the moral monstrosity of this massive deportation effort. Some will find Trump's "auslander" talk terrifyingly Hitler-esque.
GOP voters are driven solely by a desire to punish their enemies. Some try to convince them they're being ideologically inconsistent, or even voting against their own self interest. THIS WILL SWAY NONE OF THEM, AS LONG AS THE GOP KEEPS DISHING OUT PUNISHMENT TO THOSE THEY'VE BEEN TAUGHT TO HATE.
