He had a wide open field at the debate to make a case for why Dobbs is a disaster and what will happen under trump. He couldn't. Full stop. He couldn't.
Trump blathered on about states rights, and biden disappeared. And it won't be the last time.

In a debate? How does that work.

Actually I think that's the way to 'debate' him. When the firehose starts, jot them down. Your turn, pick the most laughable that no one could believe... and ridicule it. Then the next, and next. Don't worry about the question. As they say in sport: play the man, not the ball.
But Biden can't.

That's exactly what they always do, and what Shitgibbon did to Biden at the debate. It worked. Biden simply couldn't deal with it.

We haven't yet nominated a candidate, and Joe's debate performance makes it a valid question. He absolutely controls the future of the party and it's candidate, and the only way there's a new candidate is if he names a new ticket and they go forwards into the convention with his blessing. His call.

Women lead the charge. Their grandmothers enjoyed their first free and compulsory womens education under the Shah, which among other things (land reform, etc) earned him the eternal hatred of the Mullah's.

Sorry Thelonious, that was satire. Monte Python 'what have the romans ever done....'.
Yes, they wrote it, and have been working on it since Lewis Powell wrote his famous memo.
I get it, no worries.

Vs 50. Including NATO and US. Putin is scrambling, and WAAY out of his comfort zone. This is far from the way he'd been planning for many years. The domino's just aren't falling his way, and the summer offensive is yielding very little more than lots of Russian blood on very few km's of Ukraine.

Fair enough. Re France, I wouldn't write Macron off quite yet. He's twice as smart as he average guy, and four times as smart as LePen.

Rather dire, no? UK in 'death throes'? France? Iran? I haven't known hyperbole to be your calling card, and yet...
Death throes might be Sudan. Myanmar. Venezuela is getting there, but can't think of many more.

IF. IF my choices remain the two that they are today, I've picked and am comfortable with that choice.
I'm not everybody though, and the fat lady hasn't sung yet. We haven't even had a nominating convention... but you know that. It's Joe's call, not mine, and I'm ridin' with his choice.

No one is making the case that it's just 'between two old men'. Total straw man argument. The valid question is who is the best nominee/ticket to beat him? He's not 2008, or even 2020 biden any more. It's a fact. Doesn't change your or my vote, but we're not all voters, and we need them all.

The other thing there's no doubt about is that now that Joe opened the door, they're going to keep it open and hope he does it again... and over 5 months, he most likely will.
It's not about my vote or your vote; they're solid. Unless women vote EN MASSE, it's all on the margins...

No one doubts your vote, but there are (crazy, but true) still enough people sitting on fence posts, not voting for them like you and I, who we need to win this election. And like you, no one is sure Joe will lose or if another ticket will win. However, that he lost votes at the debate, no doubt.

Not worried about the Mexican cartels or a nuclear plant, and RU mob is just about him making money... indeed, IMO that's what the entire Ukr war is about for Putin. Maidan took away his personal stash cash-cow. Anyway, we'll see. He's been obstructive since '14, not sure what else he can do.

It thought it was going to be a walkover too, but then Joe stumbled in with the main course for their banquet. Hard to blame them for the specifics and don't need to when there's so much to hate them all for.

No, what I mean is just the opposite. I know what normal, capable 60-95 yr olds look like... and that's not what he looks like. He's fried, circuits are burned. High pressure life does that, it's neither a surprise nor a shame. It is what it is.

I was raised in a small town about 40 miles NE of Redding, and I recall once in the 50's it was over 100 in Redding for two straight weeks. Still have friends in Chico and they just whatsapped me a foto of the thermometer. Yikes.

76 here. I get it, but I play club bridge with about 100 65-95 year olds, and I've NEVER seen one of them with the look Biden had on his face during the debate. Never. And it's a bridge game, not power politics.

It's also not irrational to believe that Trumpworld would much rather face Biden than a new, strong, young team that can actually deal with his firehose of lies when that happens. Roe is the key, so Whitmer or Harris must be aboard. Harris scares me as top of ticket. I love her, but is US ready? no.

2/2 which are iffy, so difficult to answer. The replace questions are a) can they keep/not lose bidens core voters; b) can they win back some of those he lost. Answers there are IMO yes to both, no reason to believe otherwise.
So if there's time, it's not irrational at all... but it's Joe's call

1/2 I think it's entirely rational to believe Biden lost votes after the debate, and from there it's rational to ask a) how many might that be, and where; b) can he win them back, and c) could it cost him the election if he can't. Unfortunately, there's no hard data on any of that other than polls

Right. It's not that there's not enough time to change the ticket, still pre-convention, it's just that we choose to turn it into an industry which then convinces us that 'THERE'S NOT ENOUGH TIME!!!"
If Joe leads, there's plenty of time.

It's not magic, but simple Keynesian policies that have been proven correct time and again. Invest in the country. Invest in the people.
Just imagine what could happen with a 50% top tax rate over $400k and a progressive wealth tax over $50 million net worth
Let's agree that plutocracies are bad.

Why is there no national coverage of this? Per transcripts from the Epstein trial, the depraved Orange Turd violently raped a 12 year old virgin while refusing to wear a condom. He then physically assaulted her. This is who the MAGAts worship. He should have been in prison years ago.
