I must be getting old because I've been worried about card surcharges. The last straw was the 20c sting for a iced-coffee at Blacktown Medieval festival. I've been getting money out at the ATM and paying cash. There are a number of places that tack on a sneaky 1.1% surcharge on top of the bill.

Here are more photos from my Zoo trip last Sunday. This time, it is the cheetah. The cheetah enclosure is usually bad for photos, but I lucked out with a zoo keeper stocking an enrichment meat-loaded toy under the purch. The cheetah meowed!

Speaking as a former doomer this way of thinking was ruining my life. Don't convince yourself that staying informed about literally every bad thing in the world is activism. It's digital self harm and it's taking away from your ability to actually materially help people. Awareness is not activism.
