It's hard for any Democrat to break those numbers in this climate. The reason is that Republicans are a cult who unify against any Democrat, while the left is much more fragmented and prone to expressing their frustration with this or that candidate in a poll, even if they show up to vote later.

The optimistic case is that her low approval is from being hitched to an unpopular POTUS, and running her instead of Joe would instantly dismantle the whole “he’s too old and feeble!” battle plan that MAGA has been gearing up for months.
