Why are you adding a summary to the end of each chapter? It literally adds nothing to your dissertation. It is, by definition, padding. Are you afraid that your reader won't read the whole chapter? Babe, if the chapter's not worth reading, the summary won't be either.

You'd be surprised! There's a pretty thriving line-dancing scene; Nashvilles in Henrietta packs 'em in every weekend, and Abilene books a lot of roots/Americana acts. I mean, the city's basically an urban oasis in the middle of farm country; you drive half-an-hour in any direction and it's rural.
