MasterCard, Tumblr, and now Etsy force their narrow, puritan views of decency on others. Announcing a ban on adult toys, Etsy gives existing retailers just one month to comply.

I am missing something. When I click on that link, I see a statement that adult toys have to be listed as mature, not that they are prohibited. Is there somewhere else where it states they are prohibited? Or am I misreading or not seeing something?

I've been fed up as a seller on Etsy for years, this is just adding to the list. I'm not sure where else to go, though, as I don't have any sort of social media audience to direct to my own shop - I rely so much on the internal search. Still looking for a good substitute...

Am I missing something or is the policy just really badly written? It seems like you can do those things if you follow their rules which only seem to be tagging it as mature and obscuring the first listing thumbnail. Didn't mention anything on mature being banned.
