WOT no, she does not have to involve a political scientist jfc She can do that analysis - of the politics of the image, how they will be perceived today (and as they are re-framed for each audience's purposed) - on her own

This week, I’m completing an application for promotion. In a department & institution where (some) people have been so toxic, bullying, and prejudicial it’s both infuriating and nonsensical. I may be turned down for the promotion. But “…truth telling is a liberation practice”

No secret that I’ve struggled for the entirety of my career with more senior colleagues’ toxic surveillance, undermining behaviour & bullying. Students like @marigoldtief helped create small, lustrous worlds. Acts love & generosity never reduced that violence, but helped me survive that violence🖤
