My parents would usually let us watch what we wanted to, unless they saw a trailer or a too suggestive cover or were there when we were watching and randomly decided no. We snuck a lot of R-rated movies late at night, or by recording them off TV on VHS.

The Gaiman allegations aren't surprising, considering the insane amounts of celebrity power and wealth he's accrued over the years, but they are surprisingly discombobulating, considering how important his work was for me as a young writer and person. But that is a but a selfish turn inward.
