It was volunteer work but I loved it. A lot of wildlife loss though when I was in the care center, and it started to weigh on my soul. We don’t deserve animals; moreover, they don’t deserve to share a planet with human monsters.

I think they’ll love it. It’s on my to-do list. The 6 juveniles I raised (I worked in wildlife rehab) here in my home were so smart, I’d give them human toddler puzzles and toys. They’d figure them out within seconds and toss them like NEXT! Can’t speak highly enough about them and ravens.

You feed during the day. And only a small amount. Also not every day. You don’t want any animal to rely on you as being a primary food source, just an occasional treat station. If I put too much food out, the raccoons and opossums come, too. This time of year it’s helpful for nursing mums.

They do it the next morning because the raccoons come and clean their paws in it and then the water is dirty. So, they’ll tilt it over and throw the bowl like, “Hey, red haired biped! There’s NO CLEAN WATER!” I need to get them one of those solar fountains.

They’re very easily befriended. Unsalted whole peanuts, or dry dog/cat food. Anything high in protein. Fresh water. They bring you presents. I was given a beautiful rock the other day. They left it by their water bowl and were absolutely offended that I didn’t take it! I went back out and got it.
