A conversation on our Discord has prompted me to say again: remember, y'all, what really sells books is not the author talking about their work, but *readers* talking about it. Word of mouth drives far more sales than advertising or any other engine. So if you loved a book, tell your friends!
Also, when a book you like goes on sale, it's always good to share with friends that way too!
e.g. I would probably never have read @marthawells.bsky.social wonderful Witch King book if she hadn't shared that the ebook was on sale recently (as well as the Award nominations!)
This is absolutely true haha. I was struggling to find a sci-fi series to jump into after finishing the expanse and a random post online basically was gushing over "Children of Time".
Gave it a try after a lot of misses with other books and it was so good! Really excited to read the sequels ~
The majority of my book buying is based on authors recommending books they’ve read. That is how I find most authors new to me. First on Twitter but now here.
I can't tell you how often I ask people to tell others about our books, but it's just not that easy.
It takes a monumental amount of effort to open your mouth or type something on a keyboard.
Apparently.
I hope to have gotten at least a few people to read the lady Trent series. I actually doodled something about the wing mechanism you had described because it was so darn intriguing!
