My Dad never had a tv till I was in my 20s and that meant that when we went to visit we did stuff together. Made for a good relationship. Played at the beach and parks a lot and the local craft store did pretty well off us.

Oh yeah. Really fun when that happens in the garbage shed, when you are both sick, and the bear shows up and trashes the shed and said maggots garbage but the truck is down, so it all has to be loaded into the Element and taken to the dump, with all windows open while running a fever. Fun.

Come to the Slocan Valley, where the Slocan River flows out of Slocan Lake, by the town formerly known as Slocan City but is now just Slocan, the upper and lower Little Slocan rivers, following the Slocan Range of mountains, Slocan Park, and of course there is Slocan Village, plus roads.

On the other hand, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in Canada, there are two roads that run the length of the city that each have four different names, depending on where you are along their lengths. Not to mention two main post offices, each claiming they are the main post office.

March 23 1933, the Enabling Act becomes law in Germany, giving the chief executive power enforce his own laws without checks and balances. The passing of the Act marked the formal transition from democratic republic to totalitarian dictatorship. 6 months later, it was a 1 party state.

Commercial Turkish Delight is blech, but I got to taste some real Turkish Delight that a friend of a friend brought from Turkey and it was, indeed, delightful. There were multiple flavours and I got to try the pistachio.
