I also think the vast majority of those expressing skepticism in fact favor such backsliding. It's not that they don't think the things being warned of won't happen, they're more confused that other people would consider those acts politically abnormal.

Other than the part where there cannot (constitutionally) be a second Trump term, sure. He's barred from office. If he's allowed back in power, it will be the success of that effort to end the republic. It will be the first of a whole other thing.

People in bubbles not realizing how far into that cesspit the USA has slipped because a think tank pays them 6 figures. USA has been awful awful awful for a huge part of the populace not insulated like they are.
