and so much of it is confirmation bias.. "I've never seen anything that makes a good case for why their take is wrong!" but so much is hidden from you then your eyes start to wander and they fear-monger you about whatever you're getting into - liberal theology, BIPOC perspectives, LGBTQ friends..

Oh man, every time I interact with a Christian friend I’m hyper aware of what I can’t say for fear of upsetting the apple cart. You’re right, they don’t know how to handle things outside the bubble and it’s scary.
