Oh man, every time I interact with a Christian friend I’m hyper aware of what I can’t say for fear of upsetting the apple cart. You’re right, they don’t know how to handle things outside the bubble and it’s scary.

yup, you stay away from stuff they can't handle now I see it as 'our brains were so sheltered that we were just unpracticed at.. learning about the world'? our egos were so un- used to taking those hits, it made us feel bad and we avoided it, but we had NO clue that's what we did

I have a dear socialist, evangelical Christian friend and the pretzels he has to weave himself into sometimes are impressive, but he genuinely has a good soul and it's so frustrating to see how torn he is between the church and wanting to help people live dignified lives.
