I think this viewpoint is too absolute, too all-or-nothing. Depending on what we're discussing, an 'objective' analysis gets more or less possible. We depend on rationality, research, etc., despite postmodernism's alleged rejection of this as 'modernist' (as if no one was rational before that).

I think rejecting objectivity is a rejection of absolutism. And I would describe myself as a postmodernist and very much not a rationalist. The we that depends on it is not one I am a member of. But that doesn't mean I unilaterally reject all of academia.
