I think this is part of his plan. Break the LCBO so privatization goes full scale. Which is fucking absurd. We get BILLIONS from the LCBO. That helps all of Ontario. Huge revenue with an entity that pays employees well? THAT IS HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK.

In Newfoundland there was talk of privatizing the NL Liquor Corporation. The fact it turns a profit was listed as a good reason to privatize it, as that'd make it attractive to investors... When your stated goal is to save money + first plan is to sell the dept that pays for itself, the mask is off.

Not to mention that without it, selection available in Ontario outside a handful of cities (basically the ones in Southwestern Ontario + Ottawa) will drop dramatically. Aside from making money and providing jobs at a living wage, the LCBO system provides access to product across the province.
