Because its not as simple as them holding office for one term and fixing everything. The dems are awful. But even if they had the best intentions it would take decades to un-fuck the situation Republicans have created with court capture and obstructionism.

Did the Freedom Riders give up on civil rights when they got the shit kicked out of them? No, they went on more rides, did more sit ins and marches and fought for what they believed in. Rights/democracy have to be fought for ALL THE TIME. The whining about having to put work in gives me the shits.
